More sunshine and summer heat are in store for our Memorial Day with
afternoon highs around 93. We will see a few more clouds in the sky
today and there is a very slim chance of a widely scattered shower this
afternoon, however, most neighborhoods will remain hot and dry.
Better rain chances arrive tomorrow and stay with us through the day of
Friday. Tuesday, we will be brushed by the tail end of a cool front to
our north which could spark a few showers and thunderstorms around the
area. By Thursday afternoon, we note a potent cold front to our west
which will swing through late Thursday night and Friday morning. With
this feature, we expect widespread shower and thunderstorm activity,
with a few storms possibly being on the strong side.
Much cooler air ushers in just in time for the weekend. Saturday will be
a sunny day with highs in some locations staying in the upper 70s- a
nice break from the scorching heat we've seen!
TROPICS: Tropical Storm Beryl made landfall near Jacksonville, Florida,
early this morning (12:30am EDT) with sustained winds of 70mph. Beryl
will not be a big player in our forecast, but this system will bring
much needed drought relief to parts of Georgia, Florida, and South
Carolina.
Enjoy your Memorial Day! A special thanks to our veterans past and present!
